Suarez and Messi will miss MLS All-Star Game owing to injuries

The league and Inter Miami announced that Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez will miss tomorrow’s MLS action owing to injuries.

Messi and Suarez were left off a new MLS roster for the Mexican Football All Stars game in Columbus, Ohio. Messi missed two MLS matches last week due to a right ankle injury he suffered in the Copa America final against Colombia. The team also announced that Suarez, who returned to the squad after 40 days of national team duty, will miss the All-Star game due to knee soreness.

Messi was set to make his MLS All-Star debut since joining Inter Miami in July. A record eight-time Ballon d’Or winner, who played for Argentina in the 2022 World Cup, led Miami to the Leagues Cup last year.

Miami also noted that Messi and Suarez are uncertain for Saturday’s Leagues Cup championship defence against Puebla. The team said these players’ match availability depends on their recovery on that day.
