Ronaldo Rages Over Duran Red Card

After Al Nassr’s headline January signing Jhon Duran was dismissed in the 3-2 loss to Al Ettifaq on Friday, Cristiano Ronaldo was left raging.

During a stoppage time pause at the end of the game, Duran—who has scored four times since joining the Saudi Pro League squad from Aston Villa for an estimated £64 million ($80 million)—appeared to offer a gentle smack to the back of the Ettifaq midfielder Abdulelah Al-Malki.

Ronaldo, who angrily protested to the authorities and booted the stationary ball into the stands in disgust, objected when Al-Malki dropped to the floor and sprawled on the ground. The referee gave a red card.

Al Nassr’s seven-game winning run came to an end with the loss, leaving them eight points behind game-going leaders Al Ittihad.
