Ange Postecoglou says he wants to ensure Nottingham Forest takes its proper place and is committed to leading the team to success.
Nuno Espirito Santo was replaced as Forest’s head coach by Postecoglou, who is said to have signed a deal that expires in June 2027.
After two seasons with Tottenham Hotspur, where he helped the team win their first major trophy since 2008—the UEFA Europa League in May, which they won after defeating Manchester United in the final—the Greece-born former Australia international Postecoglou was fired in June.
The Australian football coach has now demonstrated his will to win trophies with Nottingham Forest as well, stating that he enjoys winning and hopes to do so with his new team.
Postecoglou stated, “I love winning things,” during an interview with Forest’s news channel.
“I’ve done just that.
“I think it’s a really exciting time because I feel like the club wants more, and that’s definitely what I want.”
Postecoglou went on to say that he is honored to embark on a new journey with Nottingham and that he intends to guide the team to victory by using his offensive football style to accomplish goals.
“I feel humbled and honored, but more than anything, I’m committed to ensuring that this football team occupies its proper position,” he continued.
“It’s no secret I like my teams to attack, I love my teams to score goals.”
“We are already competing in Europe, which is a big achievement, and credit goes to all the guys involved,” Nottingham Forest’s coach remarked, referring to other promotion-winning teams who have struggled to stay in the league.
The coach of Forest stated, “When you consider what the club has accomplished recently, it’s an amazing accomplishment to be where we are right now.”
“Other clubs that have won promotion have struggled to stay in the league, but in a short space of time we’re back in Europe and competing for honors, which is a great credit to everyone involved.”
