Manchester United vs Aston Villa: Carrick Reaction?

Manchester United vs Aston Villa has turned out to be an important premier league match since Michael Carrick asserts that his players are willing to recover after their initial defeat under his reign.

On Sunday, Aston Villa will play Manchester United in a high stakes battle over the qualification of the champions league at Old Trafford. The game comes a few days after United was defeated by Newcastle United in a dramatic fashion off a 90th-minute goal which terminated the streak of perfection of Carrick as interim manager.

In January, Carrick replaced Ruben Amorim as the head of the team. He has since led United to the top four of the premier league through a good number of performances. The recent failure was however a wake-up call that the battle to get into the list of champions league is still a serious one.

Though it is a setback, Carrick is convinced that the squad has performed well in this week of training. He acknowledged that the defeat was disappointing but insisted that every team goes through hard times throughout the season.

Carrick says that the center of interest has soon changed to the next game against Aston Villa. The players have dissecting the errors committed in Newcastle game and have endeavored to rectify those errors during trainings.

United are currently in the third position and Aston Villa in position four. That makes the Sunday meeting a head-on collision of two clubs that are out to win the Champions League football next season.

Carrick made a short notice of Mason Mount too. The midfielder lost the past six leagues through an injury but has recently resumed training.
