Juventus Crash Out of UCL: Thiago Motta Faces Scrutiny

Having been eliminated from the knockout playoff, Juventus has fallen short of their minimum Champions League goal; Gazzetta claims that coach Thiago Motta will be under close inspection until the very end of the season.

Wednesday night the Bianconeri lost 3-1 to PSV; their 4-3 aggregate loss eliminated them from the Champions League playoff.

Reaching the Champions League Round of 16 was the lowest goal the Old Lady had in mind, hence Gazzetta predicts Motta will remain under close observation right through the season. The Bianconeri lost to Milan in the January semis, thereby failing to qualify for the Supercoppa Final this season.

Motta signed a three-year contract in Turin last summer; despite public support for the club, he has to guarantee Champions League status this term to keep at the helm in 2025-26.

Last night the ex-Italy international defended his tactical choices.
