Is Aurelien Tchouameni Man United Target?

The transfer of Aurelien Tchouameni to Manchester United is turning out to be one of the most debated midfield deals before the summer window as Manchester United keep on re-inventing their future squad. After concentrating on attack and goalkeeping in its past transfer windows, the club is now putting an emphasis on strengthening central midfield.

Manchester United are also keeping a keen eye on various possibilities in the premiership such as Elliot Anderson of Nottingham Forest, Carlos Baleba of Brighton and Adam Wharton of Crystal Palace. There is internal talk however that Wharton might not be an ideal tactical fit, particularly with Kobbie Mainoo likely to have a large long-term contribution following his extension of new contract.

Due to this, United have started to focus on Europe once again where Aurelien Tchouameni has become a powerful and viable candidate. The French midfielder is on the radar of United since he moved to Real Madrid in 2022. The deal would now be hard but not impossible since he has a contract that expires in 2028.

Spain reports indicate that Real Madrid are typically content with his progress, although in a season of change of squad, a huge bid would put their position to the test. United are optimistic that they can gain a lot of financial power and popularity in case they come back to play in Champions League football which will help them in negotiation.

Anticipated departures also affect the recruitment strategy of the club. Both Casemiro and Jadon Sancho are associated with exits and it would help to ease the wage pressure and make room to newcomers. The future of Marcus Rashford is also not clear, and it is even said that Barcelona has a buy-out option.
