Women’s Euro 2025 Introduces Prize Money Share

On Monday, UEFA confirmed that Women’s Euro 2025 players will get a percentage of the prize money for the first time.

The UEFA Executive Committee authorized a 41 million euro prize fund for the tournament in Switzerland, a 156% increase from 2022. Participating national associations will distribute 30–40% of the awards to players.

Monday’s Lausanne conference also announced a six-million-euro boost in compensation to European clubs that release players for the event.

Qualification will earn all 16 teams 1.8 million euros, 70% of the prize money, while performance incentives, including those for group and knockout wins, will make up the remaining 30%.

Tournament champions can collect 5.1 million euros if they win their three group stage matches.

UEFA claimed the increase in prize money underlines their commitment to developing the women’s game across Europe with 1 billion euros over six years.

At the 2023 Women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand, players received a percentage of the prize money for the first time.
