Will Tottenham Sign Eberechi Eze From Crystal Palace?

On Wednesday, foreign news outlets said that Tottenham Hotspur are hopeful about completing a deal worth at least £60 million ($81 million) for Crystal Palace’s Eberechi Eze. Reports say that Spurs were thinking of joining the fight for Eze last week. The midfielder has two years left on his contract at Selhurst Park.

Tottenham is now trying to get a cheaper cost for Eze since their interest has grown since his £68 million release clause ran out earlier this month.

Arsenal also wanted Eze for a while, but they were anxious about Ethan Nwaneri, who was in the last year of his contract and hadn’t signed it yet. The adolescent did, however, sign a new five-year pact later.

Arteta’s team has changed their attention to selling before going after Eze because they have already spent about £200 million this summer.

In the meantime, their choice to fix Leandro Trossard’s problems without extending his contract shows that they are no longer interested in Palace’s midfielder.

With that in mind, Spurs have taken the lead and are now the favorites to sign Eze.

Spurs are said to have made an initial bid of £55 million plus £5 million in extras, but no deal has been reached yet. However, the clubs are still talking.

Reports also say that Eze is eager to join Tottenham, who will play in the Champions League this season after winning the Europa League in May.

Eze featured in Palace’s 0-0 draw with Chelsea on Saturday. He played for 84 minutes and scored a goal on a free kick that VAR ruled out in the first half.

After the game, Palace manager Oliver Glasner said that the club knows Eze’s clause is gone and that it is now up to the club. We will have to wait and see what happens.

Glasner added, “He will come to Crystal Palace’s training ground tomorrow (Monday) and rest.”

“We’ll make sure he has Tuesday off, and we’ll meet on Wednesday. I expect him to be back and play against Fredrikstad.”

“I’m pretty calm, but I know we only have two weeks left and that Ebs’ clause is gone. It’s up to the club what happens next.”
