Will Mohamed Salah Liverpool Exit This Summer?

Midfielder, Danny Murphy, a former England player, feels that Mohamed Salah Liverpool exit is now a real possibility after the current season. He thinks the Egyptian forward might exit Anfield during summer should there be no significant transformation in the club.

Salah has recently renewed his two-year deal with Liverpool. Back then it appeared to be a long-term investment. This season has however narrated a different story. Salah has not been a regular starter with manager Arne Slot. That scenario has put serious doubts on his future.

When asked about the circumstance, Murphy replied that there are indicators of an exit. He feels the diminished role played by Salah and his present form are more than the length of his contract. In his opinion, Liverpool is free to sell the forward should Slot be in control.

Murphy remained unsure as to whether Salah would remain another year. He further added that team work and individual struggles by Salah contribute to that thinking. The contract particulars, according to him, can do nothing to prevent a summer transfer.

Murphy told me that there was one possible exception. That would be the entry of a new manager. A new coach would make the decision of constructing the team around Salah. That would provide the forward with renewed motivation. It would also allow him to spend another season there.

Murphy confessed that he is not personally acquainted with Salah. Nevertheless, he thinks that the situation might be altered with the help of a new environment in the club. A new manager can very well provide the players with a new sense of importance.

Another major consideration by Murphy was age. He explained that it is even more difficult to make older players accept less important roles. It can be psychologically difficult to play less. This is even in cases of legendary players.

Murphy was complementary of the successes Salah had had in the past. He called them phenomenal. However, he emphasized that football is fast. What has once been successful is not necessarily important in the future.

The strains have also been observable this season. Salah displayed anger publicly following a 3-3 draw with Leeds United. He stated that he felt being thrown under the bus. He also indicated that his rapport with Slot failed as well.

Such remarks were the fuel of Mohamed Salah Liverpool exit talk. The question on whether the situation can be fixed has been raised by fans and pundits.

In the meantime, Salah is still a Liverpool player. There is doubt in his part, though. Without change, a good number of people think that his stay at Anfield is about on its deathbed.
