Will Liverpool Sign Isak This Summer?

Liverpool manager Arne Slot has declined to comment on Newcastle United forward Alexander Isak stating that he and many managers never speak of a player who has not even signed and that the club will keep their search in the market.

Last week, Newcastle denied a bid of the Premier League champions offering Isak Valuable Value of 110m plus bonuses.

However, liverpool remain interested in Isak and it is understood that now it is upon the Magpies to accept an offer and where their offer or rejection would be the precursor to the future of their prized forward should the Reds move their interest forward with a superior offer this summer.

Liverpool is eager to bring on another striker who is good enough to be given a starting position and be a value in the market given the departure of players such as Luis Diaz and Darwin Nunez who are on the cusp of joining Al-Hilal.

When interviewed by Slot on Friday about whether or not Liverpool are interested in Isak, he responded by saying it is not right to discuss a player who does not belong to them.

He told us that players come and go, but the club is also getting new players, and young people perform good.

You see, like I told you and the same with a lot of managers, you never mention a player who does not belong to you. I can speak about Hugo [Ekitike], whom we have signed recently and who performed really good so far,” Slot said.

We are very satisfied with the team we had and there is all the reason to be happy about it since we won the league last season.

Check, we did lose players on the other hand but we have brought players in too and youngsters are performing well.” Slot was also chatting about the deal of Nunez, that he would surely go, but not yet finalised.

The team, he said, already has a number of attacking options, yet the club is still scouting in the market. At the present time, Darwin may vacate but nothing is signed yet and so we have to wait a couple of days before that will be totally accomplished., Slot added.

I believe we are not short of attacking power in this team as of now. Talking about Cody Gakpo, Federico Chiesa, Hugo Ekitike, Mo [Mohamed] Salah, Jeremie Frimpong who could play as right winger, Florian Wirtz who could play as a left winger, so I already feel I have a lot of attacking options.

But as a club we always look at opportunities on the market but it can also be in the midfield and the last line.”

On Saturday, Liverpool will face FA Cup champions Crystal Palace in the FA Community Shield at Wembley and Arne Slot has explained that the team will have to be in form this weekend, or they would not begin their new season with some silverware.
