Will Hansi Flick Miss Barcelona’s Next Match?

Barcelona coach Hansi Flick and aide Marcus Sorg have been suspended one match and fined 20,000 euros ($23,320) each by UEFA after being found guilty of misconduct in their defeat against Inter Milan in the Champions League semifinals, the European football governing body said Friday.

In one of the matches in the Champions league semi-final, Flick protested hysterically against a few decisions made by the referees and his team lost by 4-3 to Inter in May, in the match that denied them a place in their first final in the show in a decade.

The penalties imply that Hansi Flick and his assistant will both miss the dugout in their first match of this season of the Champions League.

In another case, Lamine Yamal and Robert Lewandowski, strikers of the Barcelona team were also fined 5,000 euros each by UEFA because they breached Anti-Doping Regulations and fail to report to a control post, in the same game.

Other misconducts like the one committed led to Barcelona and the Inter Milan being fined. Included in it are 5,250 euros of fans throwing objects and 2,500 euros of lighting fireworks during the match Barca.

In the meantime Inter was fined 22,000 euros as the fans blocked the access to the streets and 11,500 euros due to fireworks.

And it is not the only time Barcelona are in hot water this summer, they have also been fined 15 million euros by UEFA following the FFP breach. Otherwise their fine can increase to 60 million euros in case they are unable to fulfill a set of requirements this season.
