Will Eddie Howe Stay Newcastle Manager?

The future of Eddie Howe Newcastle has been subjected to a lot of scrutiny, yet the club management seems to be patient enough to remain patient in the face of mounting pressure.

Current chief executive David Hopkinson of Newcastle United has openly supported the current course of action, saying that he has no intention of immediately replacing Eddie Howe. His remarks are issued at an opportune time when the club has recorded a series of poor performances.

The biggest blow was the most painful setback that was a defeat in derby to Sunderland. The 2-1 loss at St James Park also affected the position in the league but it also caused violent reactions by the supporters as they booed when the game ended. It was a crushing blow to the fans as the outcome confirmed the fact that Sunderland would play twice as many games than any other team.

The competitions facing Newcastle do not just stop at the domestic competition. This was further pressured by the fact that they had just left the UEFA champions league. It was a big loss to FC Barcelona that indicated the flaws in their defense and questioned the possibility of the team to play with the best at the highest level.

Newcastle are now ranked 12 th in the premier leagues, way out of their previous targets of competing in the European positions. The drop in figure has immediately raised concerns on the future of Howe, particularly, considering the prospects of the squad.

But the reaction of Hopkinson proposes otherwise. Instead of responding emotionally to bad performance, the club does not seem concerned with emotional stability. He also admitted how emotionally the derby loss affected him, thus it is clear that losses are taken seriously in the club.
