What did Howe say about Isak’s future at Newcastle?

International media stated on Friday that Eddie Howe is still not sure what would happen with Alexander Isak’s move because the transfer window closes on September 1, 2025. Manager Howe claimed on Friday that the Magpies are close to signing German forward Nick Woltemade.

So far this season, Isak has not played in any of Newcastle’s games. He is training by himself since he hopes to join Liverpool before the transfer deadline.

Earlier this month, Liverpool made a bid of £110 million plus extras for the Sweden international, but the Magpies turned it down since they haven’t found a good successor for the star yet.

Howe, who had earlier called the heated standoff a “lose-lose” situation, now says he doesn’t know what will happen to Isak before the trip to Leeds United on Saturday.

“It’s hard for me to give you any kind of clear picture of the future. Howe told reporters, “I’ve said before that I don’t know what the future holds in that area because I’m not involved with it.”

“I don’t have any news, so I’m simply working on getting players to join the team.

“We’re still searching around (in the market). I don’t know what it will look like, but there is still a chance to make the team even better. “Let’s take it one step at a time and finish the deal we’re working on.

Howe claimed that things are going well with Woltemade, who recently played for Germany and scored 17 goals in all competitions for VfB Stuttgart last season. The center-forward deal will let Isak transfer to Liverpool.

“Good signs. Things are going well and changing right now. “I can’t say for sure until it’s done, but I hope so,” Howe added.

“I don’t think he can play Leeds…” We need to focus on bringing in a centre forward. That’s what we’ve been working on all summer, so hopefully we’re getting closer.
