West Ham has agreed on a fee of about £15 million for England and Aston Villa striker Danny Ings. With 15 goals from 19 games, the Hammers are the Premier League’s second-lowest scorers, and they face fellow strugglers Everton this weekend. Also, West Ham United may consider bids for striker Michail Antonio.
West Ham agree deal for striker from Aston Villa for £15m transfer fee
West Ham has negotiated a fee with Aston Villa for striker Danny Ings, with the Hammers poised to pay roughly £15 million for the England international. Ings will join the London club from Villa Park, where he has six Premier League goals in 18 games this season, and will provide competition for Gianluca Scamacca and Michail Antonio in the Hammers’ front line. West Ham has only scored 15 goals in 19 league games this season, with their goal-scoring form being a big part of their Premier League problems.
They are now 18th in the table, slightly ahead of Everton and Southampton on goal difference. Ings, 30, joined Villa from Southampton in 2021 for £25 million, but he has not reached the same heights at Villa Park as at St Mary’s. Regardless, the three-cap England attacker has 14 goals in 52 outings for the Villans in all competitions.
With Ings on his way to the London Stadium, a move for Lorient’s Terem Moffi is not out of the question. According to one report, Lorient would accept West Ham’s £25 million bid, but the player remains indecisive about the move.
