Victor Osimhen delivers as Napoli’s dream of Serie A title. After moving to Napoli from Lille in July of 2020, Victor Osimhen had a difficult beginning to his career with the Italian club. A positive COVID-19 test and then a cracked eye socket would only add to Osimhen’s challenges as if adjusting to life in a new country during a global pandemic wasn’t already challenging enough. As if that weren’t enough, Osimhen would now have to deal with the aftermath of a global epidemic. These problems ultimately prevented him from making more than 39 starts in Serie A during his first two seasons in Naples, but the 24-year-old started the current season finally healthy and eager to demonstrate his true worth to the team.
Osimhen and Napoli have demonstrated from the very beginning that the 2022–2023 season is going to be theirs. They began by annihilating Hellas Verona in the opening round with a score of 5-2, and Osimhen was credited with both a goal and an assist in the match.
