United Stars Target Premier League Glory

Amad Diallo and Bryan Mbeumo of Manchester United are optimistic that the club will be back to the top of English football in the next two years, which is an ambitious goal of winning the English Premier.

Their remarks were following the fact that United created a spirited comeback to beat Crystal Palace by 2-1 on Sunday at Selhurst Park. The victory put the Red Devils in the ninth position in the Premier League table, which indicated a turn around after a chaotic season that saw the team record 15th last season, the lowest in its history since the 1989-90 season.

The turnaround of United started with the appointment of Ruben Amorim in November 2024. The Portuguese coach became the finalists of the Europa League, but they lost 1-0 to Tottenham Hotspur.

Both Amad and Mbeumo were interviewed on Sky Sports before their next league match with West Ham United on Thursday to talk about the long-term direction of the club. When pressed on where they saw United in two years, Amad answered brazenly by stating that the squad is aimed at the league title.

Well, why not to win the league? Dreaming is possible, no?” he said.

This was the same ambition that was echoed by Mbeumo who made it clear that playing at Manchester United is a responsibility that comes with the goal of winning major honours.

If you visit Manchester United, you have ambitions of winning titles and the premier league is one of them, why not? Mbeumo added.

Amad was asked about the goals of this season, but he was very careful and claimed that it is still too early to make any promises. Nevertheless, he underlined that the team is concentrated on the steady improvement.

I am trying to work as a team, he answered. Any player has high expectations towards himself since it is Manchester United. We must perform better each match. It is done step by step, and I hope we are far beyond where we were at the onset of the season.
