UEFA Futsal Champions League Preliminary
The preliminary and main round draws for the UEFA Futsal Champions League will generate buzz on Thursday, July 4, at 14:00 CET. For August and October, this event decides the preliminary and main round group stages.
Contest Rules and Contestants
Depending on their April 2023 UEFA futsal national team coefficient rankings, the 56 teams will begin in the preliminary or main phase. Portugal, Spain (with Illes Balears Palma Futsal), Kazakhstan, and Croatia—among the top-ranked countries—will each send two representatives. Russia is out; every other country will enter one squad.
Draw for the preliminary rounds.
There are thirty-two teams in eight four-person groups for the preliminary stage, August 20–25. The draw seeds teams into four slots using coefficient. Initially recruited to guarantee group balance will be eight pre-selected mini-tourney hosts. These first round champions proceed to Path B of the main tournament.
Draft for Main Round
The eight preliminary round group winners plus 24 teams with byes will square off in the main round from October 22 to 27. Path A hosts top 12 clubs including Palma and 16th–19th teams. Four groups will house teams; the top three from each group will advance to the elite phase. For the remaining elite round slots, Path B pits the next-best teams and preliminary round champions.
Noteworthy participants in history
Two seasons will allow Palma to try to keep their European supremacy. Former champions Anderlecht and Araz as well as Kairat Almaty and Sporting CP strengthen the rivalry. Newcomers Cartagena and Aberdeen Futsal Academy will excite this illustrious event.
