UEFA Champions League Second Qualifying Round Draw

The second qualifying round is divided into two paths: There are two broad tiers; the first one is known as the Champions Path and the other one is known as the League Path. The Champions Path is composed of clubs which have claimed their domestic league championships but are required to play the qualification rounds if their domestic league’s coefficient rating is low according to the UEFA. The League Path Includes sides; which did not claim their domestic league title but secured positions that would afford them an opportunity to fight for the Champions League slot.

In champions path 24 teams participated, 10 teams directly competed at this stage of this round. The remaining 14 competed in the first round of qualifying. These teams were drawn into three groups and each group included five seeded teams. Also, five unseeded teams aligned on their respective coefficients in the UEFA club. The draw aimed at making sure that at least one team in a given set consisted of a seeded team while the other was unseeded.

The format of play for the League Path was that there were four teams participating and they were split evenly between seeded and the unseeded teams. As for the seeded team in this round. They include Fenerbahçe SK from Turkey and FC Dynamo Kyiv from Ukraine. While FK Partizan from Serbia and FC Lugano from Switzerland as the unseeded team.
