Torino boss makes Sasa Lukic exit claim. Serie A coach Ivan Juric told Tuttomercatoweb that Sasa Lukic is a “very powerful player,” but that Torino will adjust to life without him if the Serbian international decides to leave Torino to join Fulham in the Premier League. In the summer of 2018, local rivals Juventus were able to purchase Italy’s 2022 Defender of the Year from Il Granata for an eye-popping amount of 42.5 million pounds. You wouldn’t know it even if you tried.

Torino, a squad that ended tenth last season and is currently flying high in eighth place, is probably better off without Bremer than they were when they had the Brazil international on their roster. And because of this, Juric is confident that Torino will be able to maintain their position in the top half of the table even if Lukic ends up leaving before the transfer deadline the following week. According to Fabrizio Romano, the initial proposal that Fulham has placed is for 7 million pounds. Lukic had a strong showing for Serbia at the World Cup in Qatar. After playing in Serie A for the past seven years, he is interested in taking on a fresh challenge in the English league.
“Lukic is a very strong player. I consider him really strong because he combines the two phases (defensive and attacking). Tough, intelligent,” says Juric, linked with the Southampton job before Nathan Jones took over from Ralph Hasenhuttl at St Mary’s.
“I’m sorry that things don’t go the way I would like. There are these difficulties with (contract) renewals. Let’s see how things evolve, based on what the boy wants. We don’t just need to replace (him), but add to those who I think are good.”
“I would always like him here, but there are different dynamics. A younger boy could arrive (to replace him). Sometimes it’s even right (to sell), as happened with Bremer,” Juric adds.
“We’ll manage, I think.”
Andre Trindade, a young Brazilian player who now plays for Fluminense, has caught the attention of Fulham, who are looking to add both a right-back and a midfielder to their roster. It is understood, however, that worries regarding Financial Fair Play make it unlikely that Andre would arrive in January given his current valuation of more than £17 million.
