Time until Mbappe ends Real goal drought, says Ancelotti

Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti believes Kylian Mbappe will score soon after a month without a goal. Mbappe has struggled as a centre forward for Real Madrid, scoring only one goal in his last seven games and going over 400 minutes without scoring in all competitions.

The 25-year-old skipper was not called up for France during the international break, but Ancelotti said Mbappe was in excellent spirits in training before Sunday’s LaLiga match against Leganes.

“All great strikers get frustrated, but not him. “He’s motivated and happy to train with his teammates,” Ancelotti told reporters Saturday.

In time, he’ll snap his goal drought. He will play well tomorrow because it’s certain.

“He has incredible quality and sooner or later he will show it.”

Mbappe’s position has been questioned since his dream move to the Santiago Bernabeu, with many asking if he should play on the left. However, Ancelotti has been reluctant to switch Vinicius Jr., their best scorer, who plays

“I don’t think Kylian has ever asked me for a position on the pitch, everyone wants to start in the starting 11,” he remarked.

However, Mbappe and Vinicius have no definite place on the pitch. All depends on the contest.”

Ancelotti refused to offer Mbappe explicit training instructions, but he has been working with Raul Asencio and Ferland Mendy to address an injury crisis at the back. David Alaba is recovering from an anterior cruciate ligament tear, but Dani Carvajal and Eder Militao have also been injured.

“We have focused on defence, with Raul Asencio, Mendy, trying out right backs,” he remarked.

Real would contemplate mid-season transfers after playing Sevilla next month in their final 2024 games, according to Ancelotti.
