The English Football Association said on Thursday that England forward Raheem Sterling would return to Qatar for the World Cup on Friday after spending time at home following a heist. The FA has announced that Raheem Sterling will return to England’s World Cup camp in Qatar on Friday, just in time for the Three Lions’ quarterfinal match against France at Al Wakrah.

The Chelsea attacker had previously gone to attend to a family problem. Phil Foden and Bukayo Saka started on either side of Harry Kane in England’s 3-0 triumph over Senegal, while Sterling was left off the roster. If Sterling were to start against France, it would significantly upset manager Gareth Southgate.
However, his comeback does provide Southgate with more alternatives off the bench. As reported by British media outlets, Sterling’s home was broken into on Saturday night when he and his family were inside. There were no victims or threats of violence, according to the Surrey Police Department’s investigation into the incident.
According to the authorities, the homeowners returned from an overseas trip to find missing many jewellery pieces, including watches. Sterling’s decision to quit the camp and return to England was encouraged by Southgate. He remarked, “Right now, the most important thing is for him to be with his family.
We’ll support that and leave him as much time as he needs.” During Southgate’s tenure as England manager, Sterling has been an integral part of the team. In 81 international appearances, the 28-year-old has scored 20 goals for his country. One of his goals came in the 6-2 World Cup triumph against Iran in 2022.
