Slot Reveals Alexander Isak Return Timeline

Liverpool head coach Arne Slot has outlined Alexander Isak return timeline, which provides an insight into when the record signing would seem back at the club after an extended injury absence. The Swedish striker is sidelined since the month of December after sustaining a severe leg and ankle injury.

Isak sustained injuries when the Reds of Liverpool lost to Tottenham Hotspur by two goals to one. His leg and ankle broke as he scored in the PS125 million forward after he was heavily challenged by Micky van de Ven. He got pushed out of the field and has not played since.

Slot affirmed that now Isak was at the last stage of recovering. Striker has made his first appearance on the field within the week, and of course with running shoes. This step is, according to the manager, the most sensitive in the rehabilitation process.

Liverpool coach clarified that once a player got back to the grass that the progress could be quicker, however, the setbacks were still possible. He emphasized that gym fitness practice is dictated, whereas on-pitch recovery should be evaluated continuously and taken in small steps.

Slot did not include a specific date of returning but assured that Isak will be back to the club before the end of the season provided a successful recovery program. He, when questioned about the March international break, indicated that the striker might be back in the practice of the team at around the end of March or at the beginning of April.
