Serie A defender regrets turning down Arsenal. Armando Izzo, a defender for Monza, has acknowledged he now regrets turning down a signing offer from Arsenal.
The defender was a standout performer for Torino in the 2018–19 campaign, and many teams, including, were interested in signing him.
He had joined Torino in 2018, but he made the decision to stay.
The defender is currently on loan at Monza since he is no longer in Turin’s good graces.
He now regrets his choice to remain put when Arsenal called.
“The year I extended with Torino, after qualifying for Europe, my former agency and the president Urbano Cairo told me that Arsenal and Conte’s Inter Milan were there,” Izzo said to Cronache di Spogliatoio (via Sport Italia). I stayed another year because I cared about Toro and thought the project will succeed. “How is it possible that there is no team?” I asked myself after scoring six goals that season but received no response from any teams. After two seasons, Bremer leaves for Juventus with four goals and a 10th-place finish. My goal was to attend Inter, but I was never able to.

Just Arsenal’s Opinion
Chances don’t always come your way in football, especially if you’re growing older.
But when a player chooses to remain with a team he adores rather than taking a chance and moving on to a new place, we can understand.
Izzo will likely no longer be popular at the Emirates by this point because Arsenal is a much more advanced team.
