Saudi Arabia’s 2034 World Cup Bid Tops Evaluation Scores

The Saudi Gazette stated Saturday that Fifa gave Saudi Arabia’s 2034 World Cup bid the highest rating in tournament history.

Future tournament hosts will be chosen during the Fifa Congress on December 11.

The Kingdom’s July bid, “Growing Together”, aligns with its Vision 2030 to make Saudi Arabia a global leader in hosting major sporting events including the Fifa Club World Cup and Formula 1 Grand Prix.

Yasser Al-Misehal, president of the Saudi Arabian Football Federation, said the bid aims to create an unforgettable tournament experience.

“Football is at the heart of Saudi culture, and we aim to offer an unforgettable event that showcases the Kingdom’s rich heritage and renowned hospitality,” stated.

Fifa inspected candidate host towns, stadiums, and facilities in October.

The Kingdom wants to host the first 48-team Fifa World Cup in one country by staging matches at 15 stadiums in five primary cities: Riyadh, Jeddah, Khobar, Abha, and NEOM, with 10 additional host venues.

Hammad Albalawi, chairman of Saudi Arabia’s Fifa World Cup 2034 bid unit, said: “Our bid shows our football advancement and commitment to technical excellence. We strive to give teams, spectators, and officials an unforgettable experience with various host cities and cutting-edge infrastructure.”
