Salah’s Future Sparks Liverpool Crisis

The internal tensions in Liverpool reached a new peak on Monday as the club prepared to take a firm position regarding the future of Mohamed Salah in the near future, because of a week of controversies and the relationships between the star forward and the management prone to becoming tense and strained. The hype comes hours ahead of the travel of Liverpool to Italy to play a vital champion league match against Inter Milan on Tuesday.

The past few weeks have seen Salah marginalized, as he has been dropped out of the starting line three games in a row and has not been used at all in the recent 3-3 draw with Leeds United.

The Guardian reported that the executives of Liverpool conducted emergency meetings on Sunday night, to decide how to react to Salah publicly condemning him and to gauge the effects that it would have on the squad in the long-term.

French outlet RMC went on to state that Salah will not be included in the squad at all in the match against Milan on Tuesday, even although he was spotted fully training on Monday. The session started with Arne Slot and his entire squad present in the company of Salah and the team took its afternoon flight to Italy.

Salah has only been playing a total of 45 minutes in the past three Premier League matches of Liverpool, something that is very contrasting to the standards he achieved last season. In the current season, he has only scored four times in any competition.

As tensions build, and decisive evenings in the Champions League approach, Liverpool finds itself at a point of choice, one that might change the direction of the club and maybe lead to the end of a career of one of its most prolific players of all time.
