Ruben Amorim Comments on United Transfers

Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has responded to the speculations of the possible transfer of Kobbie Mainoo and Joshua Zirkzee in the next January transfer window. The Portuguese coach admitted that the two players are ready to have more playing time and can go out on loan, but he emphasized that such transactions will in no way jeopardize the interests of United.

Neither Mainoo nor Zirkzee have ever started a Premier league game this season. Zirkzee has taken a total of 82 minutes of action and Mainoo has played 93 minutes since he was called on to replace Burnley in August. The absence of game time has brought about speculation concerning the potential transfers, especially since the two players have tried to get a chance to make logging into the world cup squads of both the Netherlands and England.

Amorim talked honestly and stressed that he felt empathetic towards the players. I was a football player, and I know it all, said he. I would like to support my players under any circumstances. I can relate to the disappointment of certain players because the World Cup is there. Nevertheless, the initial one is that the club precedes first.

United will also have possible problems with the Africa Cup of Nations and the star players like Bryan Mbeumo, Amad Diallo and Noussair Mazraoui might not be available. The fact that forwards Benjamin Sesko and Matheus Cunha have been injured puts an additional strain on the team, which demonstrates that handling the mid-season transfer window carefully is of paramount importance.

Amorim is still wary despite a five match winning streak.
