Ruben Amorim Admits Job Uncertainty Amid Tough Man Utd Start

Ruben Amorim warned “we are fighting for our jobs” when he turned away from the Marcus Rashford scandal in January. Rashford joined Aston Villa on loan until the end of the season from United, who are 13th in the Premier League after seven losses at Old Trafford. Amorim was asked about the agreement at his Thursday afternoon press conference before Friday night’s FA Cup fourth-round match against Leicester at Old Trafford.

Amorim said of Rashford: “I couldn’t force Marcus to play and train my way. On if Rashford disagreed with Amorim’s football philosophy, the head coach replied: “Like me, you know it’s not the way. You sense it as a coach and player. Quite normal. It occurred to many coaches. “The important thing is that I’m here saying that was my decision, like Ty (Malacia) and Antony was my decision to do these loans, and to keep some players even without any transfers.”

United loaned Antony, Tyrell Malacia, and Rashford, signing only teenage defenders Ayden Heaven and Patrick Dorgu. The team was close to signing Mathys Tel from Bayern Munich, but the 19-year-old attacker joined Tottenham on loan until the end of the season. Amorim suggested United are suffering for long-term benefit after analyzing the window.
