Ronaldo Leads Al Nassr to Win Over Al Riyadh in Saudi League

Al Nassr blasted their way to a 5-1 triumph over Al Riyadh on Saturday, helped by a glittering brace by Cristiano Ronaldo, which completed their third win in three games in the 2025-26 Saudi Pro League.

The 40-year-old legend did not show any signs of fatigue, and his goal took him to 945 career goals, and he is even closer to achieving his dream of becoming the first player in the history of football with 1,000 career goals.

The initial superiority of Al Nassr was in full shape when Joao Felix scored within six minutes, followed by Kingsley Coman. After playing a fantastic game together with Felix, Ronaldo then scored a soft right-footed goal in the 33rd minute that brought Al Nassr a 3-0 lead at halftime.

Felix scored one more at the beginning of the second half to make it 4-0 and even though Al Riyadh made a short-lived fight with the help of Mamadou Sylla, Ronaldo finished the night with a mere tap-in goal in the 76th minute to complete his two-goal evening.

The win follows Al Nassr’s 5-0 win in the AFC Champions League Two opener with Istiklol, which keeps Jorge Jesus’s men unbeaten in all competitions. Ronaldo has 7 goals in the 2025-26 season and 29 goals in 2025 itself, which shows that he still is one of the deadliest forwards in the game despite playing his fifth decade.

Having won three out of nine matches, Al Nassr are at the top of the Saudi Pro League table with an even amount of points against Karim Benzema of Al Ittihad. Then it follows a dramatic confrontation with the side of Benzema on Friday, which can possibly give an initial idea of the title battle. Prior to that, Al Nassr have a King Cup of Champions with Jeddah on Tuesday.
