The former Premier League and UEFA Champions League champions know that Ukrainian Premier League club Shakhtar demand up to €100 million (£88 million) in transfer costs and that the 22-year-old winger is interested in joining Arsenal. According to The Telegraph, Arsenal is close to completing a deal for Mudryk, but Chelsea might still make a late play for the winger.

In our opinion, Arsenal will be able to sign Mykhailo Mudryk before Chelsea in the January transfer window. The winger has made it obvious on social media that he wants to join Arsenal, who have made three approaches for the Ukrainian international. Of course, paying close to £80 million in transfer costs, including add-ons, for a man who has never played club football outside of Ukraine may appear excessive. Still, Arsenal and Mikel Arteta must see something exceptional in him.

Romano said: “We know they had meetings for Mykhailo Mudryk because Mudryk is a player they appreciate at Chelsea, but they heard €100m and that the player’s priority is Arsenal.”
