The first leg of the UEFA champions league last 16 PSG vs Chelsea was an exciting match with Paris Saint-Germain prevailing 5 goals to 2 at the Parc des Princes. The win provides PSG with a good cushion before the second game.
It was a tense game at the beginning. The first goal was made at the 10th minute by PSG who took control of the header of Joao Neves and volleyed half a ball into the net. The 28 th minute saw Chelsea reply as Malo Gusto completed an accurate pass by Enzo Fernandez.
At the eve of the halftime PSG went back to the lead with the help of Ousmane Dembele who dribbled around the Chelsea players Marc Cucurella and Wesley Fofana and put the ball home. After the break, Chelsea tacked even fast when Pedro Neto intercepted the ball that Desire Doue took and gave Fernandez an assists.
PSG was within ten minutes of defeat when Khvicha Kvaratskhelia replaced. He intercepted a bad pass to the Chelsea goalkeeper Filip Jorgensen, and in 74th minute, he lobbed Vitinha. Kvaratskhelia was then brilliantly served by a goal in the 86th minute and topped the victory with an 86th-minute stoppage-time tap-in as Achraf Hakimi passed to him.
The attacking depth and the resilience of the side demonstrated by Luis Enrique was outstanding, and the late substitutions worked a significant effect. Chelsea struggled and could not withstand the flowing attacking game of PSG.
Having this 5-2 lead, PSG gets so near the quarter-finals leaving Chelsea with a difficult thing to do in the second match. The supporters will anxiously look forward to whether Chelsea will manage to defy this disadvantage in the second match.
