Prince William Weighs in on Ronaldo vs Messi GOAT Debate

Prince William has offered his royal assessment on the Cristiano Ronaldo vs. Lionel Messi GOAT (greatest of all time) controversy. According to Express, in a recent interview, the Prince of Wales not only picked his favourite football legend but also made a comical confession about injured himself while trying to replicate Ronald’s distinctive celebration style, SIUU.

Head of the Football Assosiation Williams regularly visits the games during his free time; occasionally he even brings Prince Gorge, his eldest son, with him.

He lately saw the Champions League game between Aston Villa and Club Brugge. Supporting his preferred Birmingham-based football team fighting for the first top-flight European trophy since the European Cup in 1982 and participating in the Champions League for the first time, he cheered.

William visited Aston Villa players at Bodymoor Heath on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, where he also revealed the name of the “best footballer” and shared his football memories.

He told The Sun during a fast-fire Q&A session that he once hurt himself in his back garden attempting the five-time Ballon d’Or award winner’s celebration.

Following his assessment of Ronaldo’s celebration as “the most iconic,” Aston Villa defender Tyrone Mings challenged him, “Have you recreated it a few times in the garden?”
