Premier League spends £245m on PSR ‘deadline’

Premier League clubs spent a total of £245 million in just four days this summer, which is more than they spent in the whole of January.

On Sunday, the “unofficial transfer deadline day,” Premier League teams moved quickly to get their players in.

More deals were announced on Monday, as the new accounting period starts in July.

The profit and sustainability rules (PSR) must be followed by clubs by June 30, 2018, or they will be fined and lose points.

Friday, August 30th is the last day of the summer transfer window. However, some Premier League clubs had to act earlier, as Nottingham Forest learned last season.
