Pakistan vs India: SAFF U17 Clash 2025

The South Asian Football Federation (SAFF) has made the SAFF U17 Championship 2025 itinerary official. It will take place at the Racecourse International Stadium in Colombo from September 15 to 27.

Pakistan’s U17 football squad is in a challenging Group B with India, the Maldives, and Bhutan, who are the defending champions. Nepal, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh are all in Group A. The Green Shirts will start their campaign against Bhutan on September 16. This is expected to be an important first game.

After that, they will play the Maldives on September 19 and then India, their biggest adversary, on September 22.

Every group stage match is particularly important since only the top two teams from each group will move on to the semi-finals on September 25.

The final will take place on September 27, bringing to an end almost two weeks of high-stakes minor football.

Pakistan made it to the semifinals of the last event, which took place in Bhutan in 2024. They beat Sri Lanka 5-1 in their last group-stage match.

But their trip ended in misery when they succumbed to Bangladesh in a dramatic penalty shootout (8–7) in the semi-final.

After the first five penalties in that semi-final, both teams were still tied at 7-7. The game was decided when Bangladesh’s goalkeeper stopped Pakistan’s eighth shot and then scored on the next one, which sealed Bangladesh’s win.

Pakistan had drew 3-3 with Bhutan and won 1-0 over Nepal in the group round of the tournament.
