Nottingham Forest rise to second after Everton win?

Nottingham Forest beat Everton 2-0 on Sunday thanks to Chris Wood and Morgan Gibbs-White goals to go up to second in the Premier League following another great away performance.

The win gives Forest 37 points after 19 games, five behind leaders Liverpool, who have two games in hand and face West Ham United on Sunday, and one clear of third-placed Arsenal, who don’t play until New Year’s Day.

Chris Wood headed a long ball to Anthony Elanga, who headed it back into his path and teed up Wood to neatly loft it over Jordan Pickford and into the net to give the visitors the lead in the 15th minute.

Gibbs-White scored on the hour after Wood saved a broken-down counter-attack by sliding the pass through to him in the penalty area. Everton could not get back into the game as their four-match unbeaten run ended.
