Nine Premier League teams are six points from the relegation
After another exciting weekend, nine clubs are separated by just six points in the battle to remain in the Premier League. Southampton, who began the weekend in last place, and Wolves, who defeated Leicester and Tottenham, were the weekend’s biggest winners.
Bournemouth, Leeds, West Ham, and Crystal Palace, as well as Leicester, all suffered defeat. With a thrilling 2-2 draw at Nottingham Forest, Everton missed out on the opportunity to climb out of the bottom three. While 12th-placed Palace has 27 points, bottom-placed Bournemouth has 21 – just six points less.
“It will go down to the wire, it is absolutely fascinating,” said former Crystal Palace striker Clinton Morrison, who was at the Forest game for BBC Radio 5 Live.
“It’s a huge point for both Forest and Everton. They are both coming off the back of losses. A good point in the end, maybe better for Forest. But teams in and around them have lost.”
