Neymar Departs Al-Hilal After Mutual Agreement

The Neymar Saudi Arabia sojourn is finally over. Al-Hilal announced on Monday that they had parted ways with the Brazilian star by mutual consent after an injury-riddled 18 months. The club thanked Neymar for what he did and wished him well.

The 32-year-old, since he joined Al-Hilal in August 2023 for a reported $104 million annual salary, managed just seven appearances. A cruciate ligament injury during a Brazil World Cup qualifier had kept him out for a year, and later, a hamstring injury kept him out again.

Now, Neymar admits his sights are set on the 2026 World Cup-the one that he says will be his last. And rumor has it that this might come full circle with a return to Santos, his very first club, in the final chapter of his career. Brazil’s all-time leading scorer and once-ordained heir to Pele, his journey across Barcelona, PSG, and now Saudi Arabia has been glittering but blighted by injury.
