Napoli had a terrible start to the Serie A season on Sunday, when they lost 3-0 at Hellas Verona and star midfielder Khvicha Kvaratskhelia got hurt when he collided with an opponent.

When Antonio Conte took over his first league game as manager of the 2023 champions, Kvaratskhelia had to be taken off just before halftime because he looked hurt from the accident.

After the break, Napoli’s problems got worse when, after five minutes, Dailon Livramento got in front of the defence and put in a cross from close range to give the home team the lead.

After 75 minutes, Daniel Mosquera easily took a through ball and scored with his right foot to make it 2-0 for Verona. This was the worst thing that could have happened to Napoli.

Verona scored a third goal in extra time when Napoli’s defence shakened. Mosquera finished off his brace by tapping in a pass from close range.

AS Roma started their season with a scoreless draw at Cagliari. Lazio, on the other hand, got off to a great start by beating newly promoted Venezia 3-1 at home, even though the guests scored first and gave them a scare.
