Musiala Hints at Major Comeback After Club World Cup Injury

Munich offensive midfielder Jamal Musiala gave a key injury report on Wednesday and hinted at a comeback following the Club World Cup 2025 leg injury.

Musiala collided with then Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma in the FIFA Club World Cup quarterfinal in Atlanta in July, breaking his fibula and dislocating his ankle.

The 22-year-old German international is crucial to the national team’s 2026 World Cup dreams. Musiala told SportBild that he will take his time. He hinted of a 2025 competitive comeback without a date.

“The leg is progressing well and healing according to plan,” he stated.

I no longer need crutches, but I won’t rush. I’ll take time.

“No date, please. But given my growth, I want to play competitively with Bayern in 2025.”

Musiala, who helped Bayern win the Bundesliga with 21 goals and eight assists last season, has not blamed the Italian goalie for his injury, saying such injuries are common in sport. He mentioned the first few weeks were hard, but he shouldn’t become frustrated.

“My first weeks were mentally difficult. Fretting over the situation is pointless “said.
