Milner Signs Brighton Contract Extension

Brighton & Hove Albion F.C. announced on Friday that English midfielder James Milner has agreed to a one-year contract extension. He is trying to break the record for most appearances in the Premier League.

Milner played his first Premier League game for Leeds United when he was 16. He could only play in four league games in the 2024–25 season because of an injury in August.

He has played in 638 Premier League games so far, which is very close to Gareth Barry’s record of 653. Fabian Huerzeler, the head coach, said in a statement that he is very happy to announce that Milner will be on the club this season as well.

Huerzeler commented, “I’m very happy that James will be with us again this season.” He said that Milner’s presence will be very helpful, especially for the younger players, even though he couldn’t help the squad last season because of an injury.

“Last season, he couldn’t help the club on the field as much as he would have liked, but his experience is really helpful for the younger players around the team.

He also praised Milner as a “great” person and said he looks forward to working with him again.

“He’s a great person to have around; he’s always there for me and the team.” I can’t wait to work with him again.

Brighton finished seventh in the Premier League last season and didn’t make it to the European stage.
