Tickets to see Lionel Messi play in the United States for the first time cost a whopping $110,000. The Argentine player will make his Inter Miami debut against Cruz Azul in the Leagues Cup on Friday, July 21. But because the amazing player is about to play for the first time, the tickets for his match are one of the most expensive ever seen for a Major League Soccer (MLS) team.
Messi US debut to cost $110,000
After Messi made a deal with the MLS team that was said to be worth between $50 million and $60 million per year, the prices of some seats went up. But there is still hope because there are choices that cost less than $487 on average. A representative from Vivid Seats said that some fans will journey almost 700 miles to see the game.
The prices from last year were half of what they are this year. When people started talking about Messi coming to the US, the prices went up by almost 900%. Since then, prices for Inter Miami as a whole have gone up by about 700%. Messi, who is 36 years old, signed a contract with Inter Miami until 2025 after leaving Paris St. Germain (PSG) at the end of the 2022–23 season.
The famous person said that he is “very excited” to be in Miami on Sunday for the event. “I come here with the same desire to compete, win, and help the club continue to grow,” he said.
