Mbappe Finds Calm and Confidence in Madrid

Kylian Mbappe explains that he has now finally been at peace at Real Madrid, after years of being on the run in Paris. The French striker disclosed that he has been able to balance both mentally and physically after a hard work experience in Paris Saint-Germain in the Spanish capital.

In an interview just before France plays its qualifier to Azerbaijan in the World Cup, the 26-year-old acknowledged that the less hectic Madrid environment has contributed significantly to his personal rejuvenation. “I’ve adapted well to Madrid. Here I feel much calmer, definitely more relaxed, Mbappe said. In Madrid the life is less hectic and stressful as compared to Paris.

Mbappe has already netted 14 goals in only 10 games this season since he signed a free transfer in June 2024, a scintillating performance indicative of his change of attitude. The change of the scenery seems to have re-energized him after seven fruitful years at PSG, where he has made himself the all-time leading scorer of the club with 256 goals.

It seems that Real Madrid has provided Mbappe with an environment where he can thrive as it is a stable environment, and the club does not prioritize media scandals over football. He attributes this equilibrium to his further maturation as a man and a player.

Having already topped Group D and Mbappe threatening to overtake Olivier Giroud in the national scoring charts, his mental sharpness can become the key to national and club history. At least the peace in Madrid could be his true triumph to date.
