Marcus Rashford Omitted From Manchester United Squad Again

Ruben Amorim omitted Marcus Rashford for Manchester United’s Premier League encounter against Bournemouth on Sunday for the third straight week. This decision has sparked talk that Rashford may leave the club.

The 27-year-old attacker has struggled to replicate his 2022-23 form, when he scored 30 goals at all levels. Despite Amorim saying his team is “better with Marcus Rashford,” the manager has stressed the necessity of good player standards, notably in training and teamwork.

Rashford out again? I’ll always decide “Amorim said. “I want to see the best of my players, and then I try different things with different players, so that is my focus.”

Amorim left Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho out of last week’s 2-1 derby win against Manchester City. After two days, Rashford said he was ready for a “new challenge” away from the club in an interview.

After scoring three goals in his first month under Amorim, Rashford was removed in the 56th minute of their 2-1 Europa League win over Viktoria Plzen on December 12. Fans booed him as he left.

Since then, he has not played. Amorim wanted to assist Rashford get back on track, but he said he had to work hard. “He has to want it first,” Amorim remarked last month. On Sunday, former Manchester United defender Gary Neville urged Rashford’s departure.

“I suspect it’s getting to an inevitable ending where he will leave the club,” he stated.

The 4-3 League Cup quarter-final loss to Tottenham Hotspur on Thursday also excluded Rashford.
