Manchester United Secure Matheus Cunha Transfer

In a deal worth £62.5 million, Premier League heavyweights Manchester United have signed Brazilian attacker Matheus Cunha from Wolverhampton Wanderers. Dunha is expected to be United’s first summer signing. The 25-year-old will sign a five-year contract; the Red Devils have the option to stretch it by an additional twelve months.

Once Cunha gets back from overseas duty with Brazil later this month, the transfer will be formally finished. The relocation is subject to requirements of registration and visa approval.

Thursday’s World Cup qualification matchup between Brazil and Ecuador represents Carlo Ancelotti’s debut game in charge of the national squad.

Last week United activated the release clause in Cunha’s contract and will pay the transfer fee in installments over the next two years.

Following the arrivals of Ayden Heaven and Patrick Dorgu, Cunha will become the third overall under new manager Rúben Amorim and the most costly signing.

Looking to completely change their assault this summer, the Red Devils have found Cunha to be essential component of their new attacking plan. They lost another attacking target, though, Liam Delap, who has decided to join Chelsea instead.

With Wolves, Cunha had an outstanding season scoring 15 goals and dishing six assists in the Premier League. Surprisingly, none of Manchester United’s players scored more goals than Cunha last season; the team had a poor campaign and came fifteenth, their lowest league position in more than 50 years.

The Brazilian expected to provide much-needed firepower to United’s frontline, Amorim’s choice to bring in Cunha has been much hailed. Still uncertain, though, who will accompany him on the attack throughout next season.

Bruno Fernandes, the club captain, is apparently considering a strong offer from Al-Hilal in Saudi Pro League. Amorim is sure the Portuguese midfielder will remain at Old Trafford despite the attraction.
