ssManchester City is monitoring Napoli’s winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia. The Georgia international has enjoyed a breakout season with the Italian side this campaign as Napoli seeks its first Serie A title since the days of Diego Maradona. Among a team packed full of attacking talent, Kvaratskheila has stood out in both the league and Champions League owing to his fearless style and attractiveness on the ball.

Against Liverpool in their first Champions League group game, Kvaratskheila was brilliant as the Italian side dispatched Jurgen Klopp’s team with consummate ease. Meanwhile, in the club’s two games with Dutch giants Ajax, the Georgian recorded four goal involvements – a goal and an assist in each of the two fixtures.
With Napoli having picked him up for relative pittance from Georgian outfit Dinamo Batumi owing to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, it is expected that were they to sell they would make a significant profit on him. Despite the attractiveness of the Premier League and Manchester City’s vast wealth, Kvaratskheila has been on the record in recent months discussing how much he is enjoying his time in Italy with Napoli under Luciano Spalletti.
‘The negotiations with Napoli lasted a long time, about two years, I was very happy that such a great team was interested in me,’ he said. ‘I couldn’t wait to wear the Napoli shirt.
He added: ‘I felt every now and then that there was interest from other teams as well, but having the offer from Napoli, I never thought about anything else. I wanted to play for Napoli.
‘When I happened to watch their matches, I thought I could adapt perfectly to that type of game. I really liked how they played and it happened.
‘Here, the city lives for the love of football, everyone knows football in Naples. It is motivating when the whole city cheers for you and transmits love to you in every moment.’
