Man Utd Injury Boost Ahead of Real Sociedad

Two traits Toby Collyer will bring to the team ahead of his expected return against Real Sociedad tonight have been highlighted by Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim.

Since United’s 2-0 victory against FCSB marked their last Europa League league phase trip at the end of January, Collyer is in position to make his debut appearance. Having a muscular issue, he missed the last four games.

After fellow midfielder Manuel Ugarte joined the injury list, he has been added to the 18-man squad that has flown to Spain for the first leg of the last-16 encounter versus Sociedad, therefore giving United a timely boost.

Although Collyer has occasionally shown great performance for United this season, he has lots of potential to be a consistent feature in Amorim’s long-term plans. Declaring what he provides the team, the United chief feels his comeback is “important”.

“It is important for us,” Amorim said to MUTV, regarding Collyer’s comeback. “It offers still another choice for the middle.

“He is really courageous and moves with great speed. We delight in having him.

The roster is getting more stretched since United will be missing several important players at the Reale Arena tonight, including Harry Maguire, Lisandro Martinez, Kobbie Mainoo and Amad. Amorim has advised those who will be engaged, though, to seize the chance and try to transform that into a decent performance.

“Enjoy the game, and that is really important for them to have a go,” he said, outlining what his athletes have to strive and achieve.
