Man ‘express interest’ in €50m Bundesliga star after De Gea snubs. an effort to convince David de Gea to agree to a new deal with Manchester United, the Red Devils are said to have “expressed an interest” in Borussia Dortmund player Gregor Kobel.
Whether the team keeps De Gea or not, Erik ten Hag is rumored to want to recruit a new goalkeeper in the summer with Dean Henderson expected to leave the team permanently.
Kobel is also said to be on Chelsea’s radar, and Blick claims that the Red Devils have “expressed an interest” in the 25-year-old, who Tottenham are “considering” as a Hugo Lloris replacement.
Even though Kobel has only been in Dortmund for 18 months, he has quickly become one of the top goalkeepers in the Bundesliga.
Dortmund wants to extend Kobel’s contract, which is now set to expire in the summer of 2026, but the Swiss international is rumored to demand a pay raise from his current £35,000 weekly income, which is thought to be the minimum he will accept.
With De Gea presently making a staggering £375,000 each week, that would be a comfortable salary for United.
If Kobel does decide to go, according to the Blick article, the Bundesliga club will demand between €40m (£35.2m) and €50m (£44m) for his services.

The announcement follows a report from The Athletic that De Gea had rejected United’s initial official deal offer.
Although it is said that all parties are eager to find a resolution and are sure that an acceptable deal will be hashed out, the Spaniard has assessed the offer to be “unsatisfactory.”
De Gea has stated that he doesn’t care about his contract and is eager to remain at Old Trafford.
Well, I’m very at ease. I just concentrate on working out and giving it my all. But there is no doubt that it will end well. This is my club, I said. I’ve been here for a very long time, and I consider it a great honor to do so.
Since he arrived in 2011, De Gea has dominated the No. 1 position and has won more club player of the year honors than any other United player.
