Man City play Wydad AC in Club World Cup opener

On Saturday, FIFA announced that Premier League winners Manchester City will play Wydad AC at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia on June 18 to open their 2025 Club World Cup campaign. From June 14 to July 13, 12 U.S. stadiums will host the Club World Cup, a dress rehearsal for the 2026 World Cup co-hosted by the U.S., Mexico, and Canada.

City, which won the last Club World Cup in 2023 under the old structure, will play Al Ain four days after their opener before meeting Juventus on June 26 in their last Group G encounter.

The expanded 32-team tournament begins with Lionel Messi and Inter Miami vs. Al Ahly in Group A.

The lone match on June 14 will be at Miami’s Hard Rock Stadium.

“This match schedule is much more than a list of thrilling fixtures involving the best clubs in the world – it shows that club football can, and will be, truly global,” Gianni Infantino stated.
