Man City Boss Guardiola Plans to Retire Soon

International media reported on Monday that Pep Guardiola said again that he has decided to take a break after Manchester City’s current tenure.

Guardiola, who is 54 years old, is the club’s most successful manager. He has won 18 trophies with City, including six Premier League crowns and the Champions League. The Spaniard inked a contract extension in November that would go until 2027.

Pep Guardiola has mentioned before that he will quit City at the conclusion of his contract. He said that after this time with the current club, he is going to take a sabbatical.

“I don’t know.” Honestly, I don’t know, but I don’t think I’m… Guardiola remarked, “I don’t know, because you can also have big work groups that help you with some things.”

“I know for sure that after this time with City, I’m going to stop. It’s more than decided.

I don’t know how long I’ll quit for—one year, two years, three years, five years, ten years, fifteen years. But I’m going to stop after this period with City because I need to take a break and focus on me and my physique.

Guardiola’s City is having a tough time right now because they didn’t win a trophy last season for the first time since he took over in 2016.

“I’ve been in every away stadium this year for four or five months, and the crowd has been chanting, ‘You’ll be fired in the morning.’ Guardiola said, “They’re going to fire you.”

“There’s no other job where 60,000 people tell you to quit, like being an architect, teacher, doctor, or journalist.”

“When you win six Premier Leagues, there comes a point when you go down. It’s just how people are… it was a process that had to happen, it happened, it took longer than we thought it would, and when it did, it went deeper than we could have expected.

Injuries ruined Manchester City’s past season, the worst of which was the right ACL injury to Ballon d’Or winner Rodri in September. City was out of the Champions League the earliest since the 2012–13 season, and they also didn’t win the Premier League, coming in third. But Guardiola says the season was not a failure.
