Early in the match, Leicester fans chanted for a penalty as Jamie Vardy faced Stefan Ortega following a counter-attack. Man City were spared by the offside flag when Ortega pulled Vardy down in the box.

Guardiola’s squad nearly scored in the first half when Josko Gvardiol’s header back to Ortega was intercepted. Facundo Buonanotte’s shot hit the bar minutes later due to City’s disorganised backline.

Leicester had another great chance early in the second half when Vardy headed into the area and James Justin was on the ball, but Manuel Akanji pushed it off the line.
