Luis Enrique Praises PSG’s Growth

After Paris St. Germain conceded a stoppage-time goal at Olympique Lyonnais on Sunday, manager Luis Enrique (54) was unhappy with the final stages. PSG’s 3-2 win extended their winning streak to eight games in all competitions and gave them 59 points in Ligue 1, 13 points ahead of Olympique de Marseille.

The Spaniard hailed his squad for another strong performance, but he admitted they lost control of the match against sixth-placed Lyon after twice taking a two-goal lead and having to defend till the end.

After a 10-0 aggregate win over Brest in the Champions League playoffs midweek, Enrique lauded his team’s mindset, which has not lost since November.

“Team improvement continues today. In a difficult contest, the team grew in personality, and the second half was great for emotional and physical control.”

“The match went crazy and when you’re winning you can’t go crazy but I think the team grew again today in personality and character.”
